Trouble With The Curve Review

Initial Thoughts
What do you get when you have an old Clint Eastwood, who is two old to do westerns? you get a very clichéd un-interesting drama, complete with every drama cliché in the book, the old father who is about to loose his job due to evil technology. he is a hard hearted man who ignores his daughter, blah, blah, blah, I could go on all day.

Story 8 out of 20
Yup, this story line is one of the most clichéd storylines I have reviewed on this blog. I am not even kidding here, it has every romantic drama cliché, the hard hearted father, who doesn't care about his daughter on the outside but on the inside he does. His daughter dumps her jerk boyfriend and then soon after finds a beautiful man, however they get in a fight and the hard hearted father needs to help while still keeping his job...
Yeah, tell me we haven't seen that in other movies.

Having all those clichés wont totally kill the movie, but It defiantly will hurt the story.

Characters 9 out of 20
I really don't need to talk to much about the characters, as they suffer the same fate as the story does. Every character in the movie is a cliché, with not a single original bone in their body's. Without going into to much detail, every character is the same as in every other romantic drama in the world.

fairing only slightly better than storyline these characters are simply shameful.

Acting Quality 15 out of 20
The acting quality was descent for the most part, however I do feel that some scene's were over acted by the ones involved.

nothing to special, in fact nothing in the movie was to special.

Romance 7 out of 20
Why can't anything in this movie be original? somehow the romance between Timberlake and Gus's daughter and Gus's relationship with his daughter somehow turn out to be even more clichéd and dull than the story and the characters. absolutely nothing original was added to any romantic scenes, dialogue, or interactions between the characters.

Because of the clichéd story and characters, the romance suffers greatly. tons of clichéd romance scenes (going swimming together and then kissing in the water, etc) and because of the poor character development, the audience will not care at all about the romantic scenes.

So the final verdict for "Trouble With The Curve" is

39/100
Bad

I love Clint Eastwood, as a Wild West shooter, not as a romantic drama director. Women will probably enjoy this film a lot more than men mostly because they love to see romance no matter how clichéd it is. But never the less, men, do not rent this movie to see with your sweet hearts, over time bad romantic dramas like this one will mentally hurt her. And you for that matter.
